Do I play as her?
Yes. One of two playable leads.
Stated by Take-Two in the pre-order announcement — the document that also set the price, the editions and the pre-load date.
Confirmed Take-Two Interactive press release /
Has this happened before?
No. The first female lead in a mainline GTA.
A fact about the series rather than about her. It says nothing about how the character is written or how she plays.

What is her history?
Time served at Leonida Penitentiary, after an incident defending her family.
One sentence of official bio. It is the entire published account of her life before the game begins, and everything under it on this page is what that sentence does not say.
Confirmed Wikipedia (Grand Theft Auto VI), summarising Rockstar's official bios /
One sentence of official bio is carrying an enormous amount of traffic, and the space between what it says and what people want to know has been filled in confidently across the web: her age, her ethnicity, her family, how long her sentence ran, what exactly happened in the incident, whether she is released or escapes, what she did for money before the score went wrong.
None of it has been published by anyone in a position to know. A page that gives you her age, her hometown or the charge she served under is telling you something its author did not have either.
This one deserves precision, because the attribution is repeated in enough places to look settled. It rests on resemblance and on readings of interviews, and it is graded here exactly as strongly as that evidence supports — rumoured, and no higher.
Cast lists from this studio have historically arrived at or after launch. Until one does, or until the performer speaks with Rockstar’s agreement, the blank answer is the true one.
Nobody outside Rockstar has played this game. There have been no hands-on sessions, no press previews and no playable demonstrations at any trade show, so every impression of how Lucia moves, shoots or drives is an impression taken from an edited trailer.
Rockstar’s note that Trailer 2 was captured in-game on a PlayStation 5 does most of the work here, and it is narrower than it looks: it establishes that the engine rendered those frames. It does not establish that anybody was holding a controller.
Three official showings exist and only two have happened. Between them they are the origin of every officially published image of her and of every biographical detail on the record.
That asymmetry is worth holding on to. Seventeen months separate a woman with one name from a character with a bio, and a great deal of the writing about her that still ranks was produced during the gap, from less material than exists now.
| Showing | Date | What it established about Lucia |
|---|---|---|
| Trailer 1 | Introduced Lucia, alongside Vice City and the state of Leonida, in about 91 seconds. The name it carried was Lucia; the surname enters the record with Trailer 2. | |
| Trailer 2 | The name Lucia Caminos, her bio, the story premise, six supporting characters and around 70 screenshots. Nearly everything known about her dates from this one day. | |
| An Extended Look | Scheduled, not shown. Runtime and contents have not been announced. |
Named. Not described.
One bio line · no voice actor · no age, no family, no sentence
Rockstar does not describe Lucia on her own. Every first-party sentence about her situation is a sentence about a pair: an easy score that goes wrong, and a conspiracy closing around the two of them across the state of Leonida.
Even the store copy declines to separate them. The Ultimate Edition is sold as content threaded across one shared story rather than across either character’s — “Jason and Lucia’s story”, singular, which is a marketing line and is treated here as one.
What has been published about him is on the Jason Duval page, and the premise itself is taken apart on the story page. The characters index lists the supporting cast that has been named.
There is a usable test for any name you see attached to her, and it is the count. Six supporting characters have official bios and no others exist, so a name presented as being in Lucia’s orbit that is not one of those six did not come from Rockstar.
