Unknown Entry 003 / the third delay Reaffirmations 7 Probability published: none

Will GTA 6 be delayed again?

No third delay has been announced. Take-Two has continued to state 19 November 2026 in results, in guidance and in a filing with the SEC, most recently on . Whether the date holds is not knowable in advance, and this site publishes no probability that it will.

What can be published is the record: who restated the date, in what kind of document, and on what day. A blog post can be edited. A quarterly filing and a full year of revenue guidance cannot, and that is the whole of the difference between this page and a prediction.

The question this page is named for. It is the largest type on the page because it has no answer, not because it has a frightening one.

Does the date hold?

Two dates have already been withdrawn. A 2025 window announced in December 2023 went in May 2025; the 26 May 2026 date that replaced it went in November 2025, having stood for a little over six months. Both were confirmed at the time, by the same publisher, in the same channel as the one that stands now.

The current date has stood longer than either of them and has been restated with revenue guidance attached, which is the strongest signal available. It remains a statement of intent. The only thing that confirms a release date is a release, and any percentage printed here would be invented — which is the practice this site exists to be an alternative to.

Known — three answers

Not one of these makes the date certain. Together they make moving it expensive.

Has a third delay been announced?

No. The date is still 19 November 2026.

Announced by Rockstar on 6 November 2025 and repeated in Take-Two's own filings and press releases ever since. Still the standing date as of 21 August 2026.

Seven entries across nine months, four of them in investor material. Guidance for the fiscal year is built on the game arriving inside it, so a slip past it is not a schedule change but a guidance miss — and pre-orders have been open since June, taking real money against a date the company then reaffirmed again in August.

How the previous two delays were announced

A short first-party notice, no advance warning, and a share price.

Both times the pattern was identical: a notice from Rockstar itself, no warning, and a stated reason that named no production problem. Both times the share price fell on the announcement. The detail of each is set out at every delay, in order. What matters here is the shape — an announcement, not a leak; a company statement, not a rumour that turned out to be right.

In hindsight there is one signal. A week before the second delay, Rockstar dismissed 34 staff, and the two events are close enough together that a causal story wrote itself immediately. That is the whole of it, and it is not much: before the first delay there is no comparable event on this record at all. Anyone claiming to have called either slip in advance was reading the same absence of information as everyone else and happened to guess correctly, which is not a method that can be applied to the next one.

A scheduled showing, an open pre-order and a published pre-load date are all things a company does when it intends to ship. They are useful signals and they are not guarantees, and the reason to be careful about that is on the record: the 26 May 2026 date was announced by Rockstar itself, stood for six months, and moved anyway.

Why we publish no probability

It would be the most quotable thing on the page, and invented.

A percentage would be the single most liftable line here, which is exactly why it is not here. Any number we printed would be made up, and making one up is the practice this site exists to be an alternative to. The claim that the game moves to 2027 has already circulated widely on precisely that basis.

Note what the grade on that claim rests on. It is not that a 2027 release is impossible — nobody can rule that out. It is that the claim was presented as knowledge, sourced to unnamed insiders, and contradicted by first-party statements made after it. If Rockstar announces a move tomorrow, that grade changes and the correction stays on the page.

The release date is stored once for the entire site, so a change is a single edit that propagates to the countdown, the schema, the footer and every page that prints it — there is no version of this site where one page says November and another says something else. If a third delay is announced, the answer at the top of this page changes the same day, the new announcement is added to the ledger above as the row that ends it, and the entry is added to the delay history rather than replacing what is there. Until that happens the date stands, and the counter is at the countdown.
